It's about time.

I have to admit that when Jeremy challenged me to start blogging, my first thought was, “But I really don’t have time to blog.” With life as hectic as it is and especially with 3 young boys to take care of where would I find the time? I was praying about it today and asking God, “Why is it that everyday I feel like I’m playing ‘catch-up’ always just a day or two behind schedule…almost on top of things, yet just falling short?” Then I was reminded that ‘My God will meet all of my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.’(Phil. 4:19)

It so simple, yet we make it so complicated. If time is what I need… my God (being the one who invented time) is rich and has more than enough time at His disposal. He already gave me 24 hours in a day so obviously He thinks that is enough to do all that needs to be done. It’s just up to me to spend those hours wisely…to make every minute count!

But here is the best part; there is hope, I don’t have to manage my time alone. God gave me His Holy Spirit to be my counselor (adviser/teacher). Today in my dilemma of time, the Holy Spirit gently showed me that if I find myself always running out of time then it is most likely due to one of (or even both of) the following reasons…#1 Maybe I am adding things to my ‘to-do’ list that are not God things, things that hold no value or things that are a waste of time. Or #2 that awful enemy of mine called ‘lack of self-discipline!’ Ouch, that’s not a fun one to deal with!

Anyway, my goal this week is going to be to stop looking at my ever-growing ‘to-do’ list and to just simply ask God to help me eliminate anything in my life that does not need to be there. And to seek His help in keeping my lazy flesh in check. I know what you’re thinking, “Wow, what a deep revelation…to ask God for help.” haha Well, I have to confess, sometimes I get a little too driven to change the world that I forget who is driving! It’s so much easier when I just let God be in charge. ;o)
